The Uninsured in Oklahoma
  • Nearly 1 in 6 (638,500) Oklahomans is uninsured, 18 percent of our citizens.1
  • Oklahoma ranks 13th highest in the nation for its percent of uninsured citizens.1
  • 1 in 8 Oklahoma children (124,300) is uninsured, 13 percent.1
  • Oklahoman ranks 7th in the nation for percent of uninsured children.1
  • Oklahoma’s uninsured population costs Oklahomans $954 million annually in cost shifting. This figure amounts to the 3rd highest "hidden tax" burden in the nation.2
