Nursing Services Conditions of Participation

This session will provide an overview of the CMS regulations governing the provision of nursing services throughout hospital organizations. Interpretative guidelines and the most-cited nursing deficiencies also will be discussed.

  • Describe essential parts of CMS’ medicine-ordering regulations.
  • Describe the minimum nurse staffing requirements.
  • Identify appropriate medicine administration timing.
  • Identify the basic nursing care plans that are needed.
