Test ICD-10 claims with SoonerCare – register now
Posted On: 1/29/2014
The Oklahoma Health Care Authority (OHCA) is offering a chance for providers to submit test patient claims with ICD-10 diagnosis and procedure codes. ICD-10 codes will be required on claims for all services on or after Oct. 1, 2014.
OHCA has posted an ICD-10 “readiness survey” on their website for hospitals and other providers. By completing the survey, providers can indicate an interest in submitting SoonerCare test claims with ICD-10 codes to OHCA. Testing will include assigning MS-DRGs to claims for comparison with ICD-9 code grouping, and can include “end-to-end” testing by returning test remittance files to providers. OHCA anticipates they will not be able to accommodate ICD-10 testing requests from all providers, but will use this survey to identify the providers with an interest in testing.
In the past, OHCA has updated in January to the DRG grouper adopted by Medicare the prior October. Due to implementation of ICD-10, OHCA will update to the new Medicare grouper (MS-DRG V32) Oct. 1, 2014. This change is to eliminate potential issues with mapping.
