HealthChoice “Select” program launches with six facilities

Posted on: 1/6/16

Oklahoma public and education employees covered by the state’s HealthChoice plan can receive a $100 cash incentive for using one of six designated “Select” facilities for colonoscopies and sigmoidoscopies, effective Jan. 1, 2016.

The initial Select facilities for colonoscopy and sigmoidoscopy procedures, listed on the HealthChoice website as of Jan. 5, 2016 are:

Medical Plaza Endoscopy Unit, 1125 N. Porter Ave., Ste. 304, Norman
Norman Endoscopy Center, 1515 N. Porter Ave., Ste. 100, Norman
West Norman Endoscopy Center, 3101 W. Tecumseh Rd., Ste. 100, Norman
DDSI South AEC, 4201 S. Western Ave., Oklahoma City
Institute of Digestive Disease Specialists, 3366 N.W. Expressway, Ste. 400, Oklahoma City
Gastroenterology Specialists, 6565 S. Yale Ave., Ste. 1200, Tulsa

HealthChoice is the insurance product for public employees operated by the state of Oklahoma’s Employee Group Insurance Division (EGID). The “Select” facilities have contracted with EGID to accept a bundled service price that includes both physician and facility fees.

EGID will waive out-of-pocket costs for members who use Select facilities. Because colon cancer screening is already covered without cost sharing under the Affordable Care Act, EGID is instead offering $100 to members who choose a Select facility for colonoscopy and sigmoidoscopy. These services are still covered at other facilities contracting with HealthChoice, but without the financial incentive for members.

EGID announced in September that it intends to add services to the Select program for the second quarter of 2016. Later this month, HealthChoice will release an extensive list of additional bundled Select services to be offered April 1, 2016, Teresa South with HealthChoice Network Management told OHA. Providers joining the Select program can choose to participate in one or more categories of service under the program. The list of participating Select providers and Select services will be maintained on the HealthChoice website.
