OHCA releases flurry of Provider Letters

The Oklahoma Health Care Authority (OHCA) published seven different Provider Letters on July 31 as notification to providers of changes to the SoonerCare (Medicaid) Program. These included:
- OHCA 2017-24 – Prior Authorization for Molecular Pathology – required beginning Sep. 1, 2017 for CPT codes 81400-81408, plus some unlisted procedure codes.
- OHCA 2017-25 – Revised Guidance for Face-to-Face Requirements for Home Health Services – clarifies federal requirements for an ordering physician to document a face-to-face encounter (including the use of telehealth) with the member within the 90 days before or the 30 days after the start of home health services.
- OHCA 2017-26 – Important Changes to Signature Requirements – Effective Sept. 1, 2017 – implements policy changes for the three-day timeline for the authentication of medical records.
- OHCA 2017-13 and
- OHCA 2017-14 – OHCA Program Updates – containing a variety of policy changes, including revisions to telemedicine policy reflecting the repeal of Oklahoma’s informed consent requirement for telemedicine.
