Amendments to ACA repeal bill unveiled
Posted on: 3/22/17
House Republican leaders late on Monday unveiled
changes to the American Health Care Act, legislation that would repeal and replace parts of the Affordable Care Act. One manager’s amendment makes changes to policies affecting both Medicaid and the tax code, and a second amendment makes technical changes to conform to budget reconciliation instructions and address other drafting issues. The American Hospital Association (AHA) does not support the bill. AHA members received a
Special Bulletin highlighting the changes to the bill.
Make your voice heard now on Capitol Hill. The House Rules Committee was scheduled to meet at 10 a.m. ET on Wednesday, and a vote on the American Health Care Act is expected on the House floor Thursday evening. AHA has sent member hospitals data estimating the impact of the bill’s Medicaid provisions. Please continue to reach out to your House members and urge them not to support the bill. In your conversations, it is important to communicate how the bill would affect your hospital, patients and community. Now is a critical time to speak up for your patients and community.
