Resolution passed in House to pause implementation for managed care program

On Tuesday, the Oklahoma House of Representative passed a House Concurrent Resolution (HCR 1009) to pause implementation of the Request for Proposal for the aged, blind, and disabled population at the Oklahoma Health Care Authority until the 2018 legislative session and until legislation is passed. The OHA and other provider organizations initiated the resolution due to uncertainty of new federal managed care regulations that will impact the Medicaid budget and the “supplemental dollars” and provider rates. The measure passed by a vote of 83 aye to four nay. The initiative was authored by Rep. Scott Martin (R-Norman) and Sen. Ervin Yen, MD (R-Oklahoma City). The resolution now goes to the Senate for consideration. (Lynne White)
