State legislative update

Posted on: 5/24/17

The state Legislature failed to pass revenue raising measures by the deadline last week, including the cigarette tax increase of $1.50. A special session is possible if the Legislature is unable to come up with a budget agreement by the end of session (May 26) that the governor will sign. Events at the Capitol this week are changing hour by hour. Please watch Twitter and local news outlets for the latest developments. OHA will communicate final outcomes with members at the end of session. We continue to advocate for adequate funding for health care agencies as a budget agreement develops.
