Tornado in Elk City affects hospital, employees

A tornado hit Elk City last night, destroying more than 53 homes and buildings. Great Plains Regional Medical Center was on generator, but had not sustained damaged and was treating injuries from the storm. However, some hospital employees lost their homes. OHA maintains a Hospital Employee Disaster Fund through the Communities Foundation of Oklahoma to assist in these situations.
