Legislative reception a success; contact your legislators

About 70 OHA member hospital leaders attended the OHA Legislative Reception and advocacy seminar on Monday, April 9, at the Oklahoma History Center. Because of the ongoing teacher walkout and large demonstrations occurring at the state Capitol, OHA made the decision to cancel Tuesday’s day at the Capitol. In spite of that, thanks to great attendance at the reception, many good conversations were had with lawmakers. If you were unable to visit with your senator and representative this week, please make a point to have a conversation soon to discuss key hospital issues. Thank your legislators for the $1 cigarette tax increase and ask them to maintain appropriations to health care agencies this year and increase mental health funding. OHA Advocacy Day - Tuesday, April 5, Oklahoma History Center. Join us for our annual legislative day. We will begin with a member briefing at 3 p.m., followed by a legislative reception at 5 p.m. Watch for registration materials soon.
