Center alerts health care field to new cyber vulnerabilities

Posted on: 1/10/18

The National Health Information Sharing and Analysis Center’s Threat Intelligence Committee recently alerted the field to two newly identified cybersecurity vulnerabilities, called Meltdown and Spectre. Meltdown affects all major operating systems running on machines with Intel chips made during the past decade. Spectre affects most processors now in use. At this point, there are no known exploits of the vulnerabilities and patches are being made available. The advisory includes recommended corrective actions.
