OHA HIIN scholarship recipients attend skin and wound management course

The OHA Hospital Improvement Innovation Network (HIIN) awarded 15 scholarships to OHA HIIN leaders to attend the Skin and Wound Management Course, a week-long interactive training program, in Oklahoma City, June 25-29. The course, offered by the Wound Care Education Institute, provided skin and wound management education based upon current standards of care and the use of new tools and techniques. Additionally, eight OHA HIIN leaders successfully completed the Wound Care Certification (WCC) national certification exam of the National Alliance of Wound Care and Ostomy (NAWCO.)
OHA HIIN is a part of 35 states taking part in the HRET HIIN initiative of the CMS Partnership for Patients HIIN initiative to focus on improving care for patients across the country. Pressure ulcer/wound prevention is one of the focus topics of HIIN.
