Part 2 considers additional pitfalls. This session addresses the complex relationship among data privacy, security, and access. Patients won't trust an organization with their sensitive health data if they don't believe that data will be kept private. In order to assure privacy, organizations must have clear and robust security policies. However, policies that are overly restrictive can impede clinicians' workflow to the point that they may not access data that could help them in the care process.
