Description:

The United States Pharmacopeia (USP) is a compendium for drug information that sets the standards for drugs in the US. USP Chapter 800, Hazardous Drugs-Handling in the Healthcare Setting, specifically addresses the safe handling of hazardous drugs to promote patient and worker safety as well as environmental protection. . Learning Objectives: 1) Define USP and USP 800. 2) Discuss the financial and operational impact USP 800 will have on hospitals. 3) Prepare a plan to be in compliance with the regulations including implementation, personal training and compliance monitoring.
