Participants learn ways physicians and hospitals should be using evaluation and management (E/M) coding. The presenter reviews CMS challenges and difficulties with this coding and also shares how to differentiate between specialty clinic coding and primary care clinic coding, and "new" patient versus an "established" patient. He assists participants in understanding the interplay between component E/M coding and physician E/M coding. The speaker also shares how to organize an E/M coding audit for physicians or hospitals.
