CAH hospitals must comply with the Centers for Medicare & Medicaid Services' Conditions of Participation (CoP) for Critical Access Hospitals. The CMS regulations and interpretive guidelines serve as the basis for determining compliance. In this four-part webinar series, participants will learn details about the CoPs and what to do when a surveyor arrives at your facility. Every section in the CAH hospital manual will be discussed including updates and changes for 2019. Learning Objectives: 1) Discuss the responsibilities of pharmacists including development, supervision and coordination of pharmacy activities. 2) List the CAH requirements that prevent the use of outdated drugs. 3) Identify the requirements for do not use abbreviations and sound alike/look alike drugs. 4) Discuss the requirements for security and storage of medications, medication carts and anesthesia carts.
