The Hospital Opioids Maintenance of Efficacy & Safety program at McAlester Regional Health Center reduced the amount of opioids prescribed by 30.3 % during 2016, the first year of the program. It is also credited with a 15 % decrease in the time patients spend in the hospital, a 16 % reduction in patient falls, and a 28 % drop in Adverse Drug Events related to opioid use. Dr. Jason McElyea, Director of Medical Education at MRHC and Program Director for its Family Medicine Residency Program will discuss the development of the internal team, identified interventions and implementation processes.

The registration fee, less a service charge stated in each brochure, is refundable if notice is received five (5) business days prior to the program. No refunds will be issued for cancellations received less than five business days prior to the beginning of the program.
