2023 OHA Excellence in Quality Awards

The OHA Council on Quality and Patient Safety is pleased to announce the 2023 “Excellence in Quality Awards.” The awards, which will be given annually, recognize exceptional efforts to improve quality and patient care in Oklahoma hospitals. The awards represent the highest level of professional acknowledgement from the OHA Council on Quality and Patient Safety and the OHA board of trustees. The goal of the awards is to:
  • Recognize outcomes in quality performance practices, capabilities and results;
  • Share best practices, challenges and successes among Oklahoma hospitals;
  • Stimulate innovation, knowledge and learning in achieving quality and safety in health care among member hospitals.
Eligibility Requirements
All OHA member hospitals are eligible to apply for the OHA Annual Excellence in Quality Awards, describing a project-based clinical topic area implemented within the timeframe of calendar year 2020 to the present.

The OHA Excellence in Quality Awards will be given to one member hospital in each of the following categories (based upon licensed beds):
  • <25 beds (including Critical Access)
  • 26-100 beds
  • 101-300 beds
  • >300 beds
Submission Requirements and Deadline
A completed OHA Quality Awards Application including  a completed CEO/CNO affidavit must be received by Patrice Greenawalt, [email protected], no later than 12 p.m. on Friday, Sept. 15, 2023. Late submissions will not be considered.  

Selection Recognition of Awards
One award recipient will be selected for each category based upon bed size, as described above.

Recipients of the OHA Excellence in Quality Awards will receive prior notification and be recognized during the OHA Connect 23 (Nov. 29-30). Award recipients will receive:
  • A poster to display at OHA Convention demonstrating and sharing quality efforts.
  • An award plaque.
  • Professional photo of hospital staff/leadership with OHA president.
  • Public recognition via media release with support from OHA.
*Awards do not include registration to Connect 23.
