OHA applauds OHCA rate restoration proposal
Posted on: 12/19/18
The Oklahoma Health Care Authority (OHCA) board met last week to review the budget request all state agencies are required to submit as the governor-elect and Legislature prepare to grapple with state appropriations for fiscal year 2020, beginning July 1, 2019. Hospital Medicaid rates have suffered a 14 percent cut since 2010. For FY 2019, the OHCA authorized a 3 percent provider rate increase for hospitals and physicians. The 3 percent increase in rates is just the beginning of digging out from a decade of cuts.
Medicaid “rate restoration” is a high priority for the OHA and our advocacy efforts will focus on educating elected officials about the importance of the “rate restoration” proposal. For more information, see a
Dec. 13 Journal Record article.
