OHA to offer intensive Cybersecurity Tactical Simulation webinar series
Posted on: 6/27/18
Now more than ever, it’s important for health care organizations to simulate a real-life cybersecurity attack and test their cybersecurity incident response plans in a confidential way.
Effectively participating in a comprehensive cybersecurity attack simulation can be difficult when key staff like chief information officers, chief information security officers and other key incident response team members need to go offsite for multiple hours to participate in a cybersecurity exercise.
The OHA is pleased to offer this unique program with a top-rated cybersecurity firm, Sensato Cybersecurity Solutions (www.sensato.co). The format of the program solves the problem of being offsite to conduct incident response plans with three cybersecurity tactical simulation webinars. Dynamic in nature, these cybersecurity tactical simulation webinars give authentic landscape simulations so that providers can test and tweak their cybersecurity incident response plans without ever leaving their physical location. Hospitals that participate in these webinars will receive a cybersecurity tactical simulation certificate of participation. All materials used (power points, workbooks, etc.) will be available to participating organizations.
The program was developed by Sensato with the New Jersey Hospital Association. Oklahoma hospitals and health systems are invited to participate.
Webinar 1 – 1-2 p.m., Aug. 1 – Tactical Simulation Preparation
This webinar reviews what health care organizations should currently have in place to combat a cybersecurity attack. There will be an in-depth best practice review of:
a)
Cybersecurity Incident Response Plan Discussion and Review;
b)
Healthcare Organization’s Incident Response Team (HOIRT) – Defining Team & Roles;
c)
Orientation of what a HOIRT should expect during the Cybersecurity Tactical Simulation Exercise;
d)
Documentation details on what each team will be given to document this experience, including Sensato contact information for phone and email support.
Webinar 2 – 12-2 p.m., Aug. 22 – Cybersecurity Tactical Simulation
During this two-hour webinar, each HOIRT will participate in a comprehensive cybersecurity simulated attack. This cybersecurity tactical simulation is designed for organizations across the spectrum of cybersecurity attack readiness, ensuring that every team will be tested beyond their limit. At the start of this simulation, each team will get a briefing on the current global threat landscape that will be based in reality. This tactical simulation experience will be based on the possibilities of the current health care threat landscape. The simulation will start with manageable injects and build over the course of the exercise to stress even the most prepared organizations. At the end of the simulation, teams will be encouraged to share strategies and lessons learned back with Sensato in an anonymous way so teams can learn from each other.
Webinar 3 – 1-2 p.m., Aug. 29 - Tactical Simulation Recap and Lessons Learned
This final webinar will review the anonymous strategies and lessons learned from the simulation participants. The object is to allow each participating organization to test drive their incident response plan. This will allow them to gain insights that will help verify readiness and enhance their current cybersecurity defenses. There will also be an opportunity for questions and answers.
Fees have been discounted and the cost for attending is $1,100 per acute care hospital, $2,400 per health system and $650 for post-acute, critical access hospitals and other long-term care provider organizations.
