Medicare Quality Programs Reference Guide updated

OHA is providing an updated reference guide for Medicare’s three Quality Based Payment Reform (QBPR) programs – Value Based Purchasing (VBP), Readmission Reduction, and Hospital-Acquired Condition (HAC) Reduction – for the 2019, 2020, and 2021 federal fiscal years. The reference guide includes program details for all program years where full methodologies, measures, and performance standards have been finalized in rulemaking.  

The reference guide illustrates changes from year to year in the components and weighting of the elements that determine a hospital’s Medicare payment adjustment under each program.
