Convention session to focus on Consumer Driven Health Care

The 8 a.m., Thursday, Dec. 6, general session at the OHA Convention will feature Jonathan Burroughs, MD, MBA, FACHE, FAAPL, presenting “Consumer Driven Health Care.” Dr. Burroughs is president and CEO of The Burroughs Healthcare Consulting Network, Inc. He works with some of the nation’s top health care consulting organizations to provide “best practice” solutions and training throughout the country. His areas are governance, physician–hospital alignment strategies, credentialing, privileging, peer review and performance improvement/patient safety, medical staff development planning, strategic planning, physician performance and behavior management.

In this session, Dr. Burroughs will discuss what consumer driven health care really means and how consumers will direct and manage their own health care going forward. This is a topic of great interest for health care executives across the country. In this session, you will learn what executives and physicians must do to prepare for and support consumer driven health care and why service will be the great differentiator. Dr. Burroughs will share the key elements that make up world class service in health care and in every other industry.
