Capitol report – Governor signs SHOPP extension

This week Gov. Kevin Stitt signed SHOPP (HB 1089) McEntire/McCortney, which extends the sunset date from Dec. 31, 2020 to Dec. 31, 2025 for the Medicaid Supplemental Hospital Offset Payment Program. The next legislative deadline for bills to advance is Thursday, April 25. The Legislature must adjourn no later than May 31. If a bill introduced in the first half (2019) of the 57th Legislature did not advance, the bill may be considered in the second session (2020) unless it was voted on and did not pass. For a complete listing of bills of interest to hospitals, click here.
