OHA regional meetings on Medicaid expansion continue – register now

OHA, as part of the coalition to collect signatures for the initiative petition on Medicaid expansion, is hosting OHA member regional meetings beginning in August around the state to inform (and train) our membership. Hospital CEOs are encouraged to attend the meeting in their region, and/or send another leader as a representative. Signature collection for SQ 802, the Medicaid expansion ballot initiative, began on July 31 and there are only 90 days to collect roughly 200,000 signatures.

Hospital CEOs attending the regional meetings will be provided a toolkit of resources to use in their communities that includes a PowerPoint presentation that could be used with employees and community groups, an accepting federal funds fact sheet, individual hospital impact of expansion, myth busters, do’s and don’ts for hospitals, frequently asked questions, and sample op-eds to use with local papers.

Meetings have already been held in Oklahoma City and Tulsa/Northeast regions. Register now for an upcoming meeting listed below:

Northwest region – 11:30 a.m., Wednesday, Aug. 21, Share Medical Center, Alva

Southwest region – 11:30 a.m., Thursday, Aug. 29, Elkview General Hospital, Hobart

Southeast region – 11:30 a.m., Wednesday, Sept. 4, McAlester Regional Wellness Center, Joe Filippo Conference Room, 1400 East Van Buren
