Harrison speaks at White House

Sandra Harrison, OHA VP of legal and regulatory affairs, was selected to speak at the White House on the topic of telemedicine on Friday, June 14. Harrison is a board member of the Center for Telehealth and e-Health Law (CTeL) based in Washington, D.C., which advocates for removal of barriers for expansion of telemedicine. CTeL established a White House working group with staff that report directly to the President of the United States. This will be the first trip to the White House in what the board hopes is a series on removing barriers to reimbursement by Medicare for telemedicine. Specifically, Harrison spoke on the necessity to remove the geographic and site-specific restrictions that exclude many sites from being reimbursed for care through telemedicine.
