The Oklahoma Hospital Association’s
Advocacy in Action Award was presented to
Doug Weaver. Weaver has been CEO at Hillcrest Hospital Pryor since 2010. With a career in health care spanning 40 years, he has a long history of involvement with OHA. He served as chairman of the board in 2000 and received the OHA W. Cleveland Rodgers Distinguished Service Award in 2002. He currently serves on the OHA board as northeast regional chair and also serves on the OHA-PAC board, the Council on Policy & Legislation, and the Council on Rural Health. He is chairman of the OHA Council on Education.
For the past three years, Weaver has served as chairman of the OHA 100th Anniversary committee. He is frequently involved in OHA’s advocacy efforts by making numerous phone calls and personal visits to state legislators.
Weaver was chief operating officer at Comanche County Memorial Hospital in Lawton for more than a decade. Prior to that, he was CEO at Memorial Hospital and Physician Group in Frederick, and was CEO at Memorial Hospital of Texas County, Guymon, from 1990-1994.
He holds a Doctorate of Science in Pharmacy from Southwestern Oklahoma State University and an MBA from Wayland Baptist University. He is also a fellow in the American College of Healthcare Executives.
