New toolkit aimed at improving care for kidney patients released

The National Forum of ESRD Networks has released the 10th in a series of toolkits developed by the Forum’s Medical Advisory Council (MAC) to assist care providers in improving the care for kidney patients.

The Inpatient Medical Director Toolkit was written to provide guidance about medical director oversight of extracorporeal therapies performed in a hospital setting, primarily focusing on dialysis treatments for ESRD patients and those with acute kidney injury. While this toolkit was developed with the nephrologist in mind, other team members within the medical center (i.e. quality improvement, pharmacy, biomedical equipment department, etc.) may also find the chapters informative.
