World Lung Cancer Day is Aug. 1

Posted on: 7/24/20

Lung cancer is responsible for more deaths annually than any other form of cancer. According to the American Cancer Society, more people die of lung cancer than colon, breast, and prostate cancers combined. While lung cancer cannot be completely prevented, avoiding tobacco use and secondhand smoke is the best way to minimize one’s risk of lung cancer.

There are a variety of ways to observe World Lung Cancer Day on Aug. 1.

If you would like assistance in tobacco initiatives at your hospital, please reach out to the Hospitals Helping Patients Quit (HHPQ) team at [email protected]. HHPQ is a program of TSET.  (Meagan Carter)
