Resources available for May 31 World No Tobacco Day

Posted on: 5/29/20

World No Tobacco Day is a global awareness campaign by the World Health Organization (WHO) that occurs annually on May 31. A different theme and a call to action is highlighted each year. For the 2020 campaign, the WHO is working to expose the tobacco industry’s marketing tactics to target and entice youth to use tobacco products. The WHO has messaging information and pre-made materials available here.

In observance of World No Tobacco Day, OHA’s Hospitals Helping Patients Quit (HHPQ) and WorkHealthy Hospitals (WHH), programs of TSET, have created a resource toolkit with a variety of activity ideas to celebrate tobacco related holidays. World No Tobacco Day is a great opportunity to draw attention to your hospital’s tobacco free policies and highlight your tobacco cessation efforts. If you would like help with revising your tobacco free policy or have interest in evaluating your tobacco control programs, the HHPQ team ([email protected]) is available to assist you.
