OHA holds first ever virtual Health Care Leaders Forum

Posted on: 9/18/20

Thursday, Sept. 17, marked the date of the first virtual Leaders Forum in OHA’s 101-year history. The event featured two amazing speakers who are part of Huron/Studer. The registration was very good with just over 100 people online for the live virtual event. Before the day ended, OHA received several phone calls from participants stating how good the event was.

Craig Deao spoke about the opportunities we have been given as we deal with COVID-19. He gave us four points to consider.
1. Look for the silver lining;
2. Don’t just recover, reposition and redesign;
3. Not all behaviors are equal; and
4. Be careful, this too shall pass.

Wayne Sotile, PhD, talked to us about resiliency. The main theme was “resilience is about getting through difficult times, and emerging stronger and better.” Without trivializing what we are facing, he told us to pay attention to practical, evidence-based leadership tactics and personal coping strategies for moving beyond our crisis mentality and navigating our unfolding new normal.

Patti Davis
, OHA president, moderated the sessions and provided a short OHA update. For those who registered, the recorded event will be available soon at the same link you were given to attend the program for 30 days. (Mary Winters)
