Senate announces approved interim studies

Posted on: 7/9/21

Senate Pro Temp Greg Treat announced the Senate’s list of approved interim studies on July 2. Approved studies of note for our industry include:
• A study on the requirements, drawbacks, and benefits of hospitals receiving not-for-profit status. (Rader)
• A study on the difference between health service provider payments to rural and urban communities. (Garvin)
• A study on inconsistent charges from hospitals to law enforcement for DUI drug testing services. (Weaver)
• A study on understaffing problems in Oklahoma health care facilities. (Garvin)
• A study on the escalation in adolescent suicide during and after the COVID-19 pandemic. (Kirt)

The House is expected to release its list of approved interim studies by July 23. Please note, although a study may be approved, it does not mean it will move forward. A study author may decide not to hear their study for various reasons. We will keep you apprised as we find out more about these studies. (Scott Tohlen)
