Coalition launches campaign to stop Medicaid managed care

Posted on: 3/12/21

Yesterday, the OHA joined a broad base of health care providers and patient advocates to announce a new coalition dedicated to stopping managed care in Oklahoma. The coalition, Stop the Health Care Holdup will help shine a light on the dangers of managed care and what it would mean for all Oklahomans.

Simply put, managed care puts insurance companies in charge of patient care - something Oklahomans do not want. The managed care plan will mean less access to care, a reduction in approved treatments and the loss of doctors and health care providers across the state. This ill-conceived plan would create delays for patients and allow insurance companies to ration medically necessary care for patients in Oklahoma.

That’s unacceptable.

The managed care plan was rushed through in the midst of a pandemic without Legislative input, but it’s up to the Legislature to allocate taxpayer dollars.

We’re asking them to Stop the Health Care Holdup by shutting down the managed care plan.

We’re asking you to join us in this fight.

We encourage you to follow the coalition on Facebook and Twitter. Please share these pages with your friends, families, and co-workers and ask them to follow too.
