“What Hospital Administrators Need to Know to Implement Oklahoma Legalization of Medical Marijuana” will be presented by OHA and McAfee & Taft law firm during a workshop 10 a.m. - 3 p.m., Wednesday, Nov. 28, in the OHA seminar center.

SQ 788, legalizing medical marijuana, passed by a vote of the people in Oklahoma in June of 2018. As employers and providers of health care, hospitals need to be aware of issues with implementation of medical marijuana. This program will cover three areas: the employer-employee relationship in implementing the law, the patient relationship for those who have a medical marijuana card, and the challenges ahead in the 2019 legislative session. The program targets CEO, CNO, CMO, compliance and legal counsel.

Presenters are Paul Ross, JD, McAfee & Taft; Terra Parten, JD, McAfee & Taft; Elizabeth Dalton, JD, McAfee & Taft; and Sandra Harrison, JD, MPA, director of regulatory and legal affairs, Oklahoma Hospital Association.

This program will be held at the OHA office in Oklahoma City. Visit the education calendar for additional details and to register for this program. (Mary Winters)
