Patti Davis message at CoverOK rally: “Where there’s a will, there’s a bill”

Earlier this week, the Together OK coalition held a Rally for Coverage at the state Capitol. Rally attendees heard from a variety of energized speakers about the need for the Legislature to act this session on accepting federal funds to cover the uninsured. Patti Davis, OHA president, was among the speakers.

“We cannot improve our health statistics and outcomes in Oklahoma when we have the second highest uninsured rate in the nation. It is not too late for the Legislature and the governor to take action and fix this in THIS session. We can’t afford to wait and kick the can down the road. Let’s move from ideology to practicality. Let’s fix this!” said Davis. “Where there’s a will, there’s a bill.”

Also attending the event were representatives from OHA member hospitals from across the state, including SSM St. Anthony Hospital – Shawnee, St. John Medical System in Tulsa, Great Plains Regional Medical Center in Elk City, Elkview General Hospital in Hobart, and LifeCare.
