Medicare quality-based payments explained in free OHA webinars

OHA member hospitals are invited to participate in free one-hour webinars to better understand Medicare’s quality-based payment reforms. These webinars will be conducted for OHA by our Medicare analytics consultant, DataGen, a subsidiary of the Healthcare Association of New York State.

The webinars will explain the Medicare prospective payment adjustments for Value-Based Purchasing, Hospital Acquired Conditions, and the Readmission Reduction Program. Changes for the new federal fiscal year and future years will also be covered.

Last week, OHA distributed hospital-specific reports to member hospitals paid under Medicare’s Inpatient Prospective Payment System (IPPS), analyzing the hospitals’ scores on Medicare quality measures and their potential impact on next year’s Medicare reimbursement. OHA provides these reports as a free service to member hospitals. The webinar information was also included in the report distribution emails.
