May 31 is World No Tobacco Day

Posted on: 5/21/21

World No Tobacco Day is a global awareness campaign by the World Health Organization (WHO) that occurs annually on May 31. Each year brings a different theme and call to action. The theme for the 2021 campaign is “Commit to Quit” with the goal of helping 100 million people quit tobacco in 2021. They have provided messaging on more than 100 reasons to quit.

In observance of World No Tobacco Day, OHA’s Hospitals Helping Patients Quit (HHPQ) and WorkHealthy Hospitals, grant programs of TSET, have created a resource toolkit with a variety of ideas to celebrate tobacco related holidays. World No Tobacco Day is a great opportunity to draw attention to your hospital’s tobacco free policies and highlight your tobacco cessation efforts. If you would like help with revising your tobacco free policy or have interest in evaluating your tobacco control programs, the HHPQ team ([email protected]) is available to assist you.
