WorkHealthy Hospitals quarterly webinar: An Employer’s Role in Enhancing Access to Care

Posted on: 9/23/22

Join the WorkHealthy Hospitals and Working Well teams for our third quarter webinar, “An Employer’s Role in Enhancing Access to Care.” In keeping with our 2022 webinar theme on the social determinants of health (i.e., the conditions in which people are born, grow, live, work, and age), this webinar will focus on factors that influence an individual’s access to care, why employers should care, and how they can be a part of the solution.

Many factors influence one’s ability to access quality health care and employers have a vital role to play in expanding and enhancing access to care among their workforce. Improving access to care is about more than just providing health insurance. It may include:
• Providing affordable health insurance with adequate coverage for preventive services.
• Offering digital solutions such as telehealth and/or virtual EAP services.
• Bringing health care to the worksite through onsite clinics or screenings.
• Allowing dependents to participate in wellbeing initiatives.
• Implementing innovative solutions such as free transportation.

The webinar will take place 1:30 – 2:30 p.m., Tuesday, Sept. 27. Kelly Crocker, director of benefits, and Anna Fleming, director of employee health and wellness, Prisma Health, will share creative strategies they have implemented to increase access to care among their diverse employee population.
