OHA Workforce Survey to be sent to hospitals next week

The OHA board of directors identified workforce as a strategic priority, with the first step to gather collective data on hospital workforce needs.

A Workforce Steering Group (WFSG) composed of representatives from all OHA regions, and hospital types (CAH, academic, REH, IHS, rural, urban, specialty) began meeting in March 2024 to create a Workforce Survey Tool. The WFSG piloted the survey tool and provided input.

The OHA Workforce Survey will be sent to all OHA member hospitals next week. OHA will send an email to the human resources leader identified in the OHA database. CEOs will receive an email identifying the name of the HR leader to whom the survey tool was sent. Please notify Mia Johnston, OHA health policy and finance assistant, for any corrections to the HR leader so that we may re-send the survey link to the appropriate person in your hospital.

Statewide and regional data, including hard-to-fill positions, staffing vacancies, and incentives for recruitment and retention, will be aggregated and a report provided to hospitals that submitted the completed survey. No hospital-specific data will be shared.
