The Oklahoma Department of Mental Health and Substance Abuse Services released a statement on Nov. 20 regarding the impact of the governor’s line-item veto of HB 1019x. The ODMHSAS stated that the governor’s preservation of parts of the bill reduces the department’s funding gap to $21.5 million, and further states, “We are spending significantly more as a state to address the negative consequences of inaction, than what we would spend to provide prevention and treatment services in the first place.” To view the statement, click here
