Health plan ID card updates for 2018
Posted on: 1/3/18
Hospital registration staff will see new ID cards for patients covered by the Braum’s employee health plan, the Oklahoma State Medical Association (OSMA) Health Plan, and the HealthChoice (state and education employees) health plan in 2018. All represent major changes in the plans, with new claims submission and contact information.
The Braum’s and OSMA health plans have discontinued their hospital provider networks for 2018. For physician and ancillary services, the OSMA card identifies the PHCS and Multiplan preferred provider organization (PPO) networks. However, these PPO networks are not used for the plan’s hospital services. Instead, these plans will pay “reference based pricing” amounts, based on a percentage of Medicare rates, to hospitals. Hospitals are not bound by a PPO contract for these services.

The state’s HealthChoice plan is maintaining its provider contracts for 2018 but is changing third party administrators. Hospitals have received several notifications from HealthChoice about the changes in process for certification, claims, and payments for 2018.
