From the president...

Dear valued OHA members,
This is my first “official” communication as your new president of the Oklahoma Hospital Association. I am extremely honored and humbled to have been selected for this position by the search committee and the OHA board. Last week, I joined the OHA board and staff for a lively and engaging planning retreat. After discussing the future of the OHA and receiving valuable insight and direction from all members of our board, I can tell you that we have embarked on an exciting journey! We are energized for the future.
As this is my first week at the office, meetings have been scheduled with staff regarding our respective areas moving forward. We have a number of items that we will be rolling out this fall, including the “OHA Data Solutions” HIDI project testing before rollout to the full membership, education regarding practical implications for hospitals with implementation of medical marijuana, HiTECH proposals on sharing of electronic health data, framing up the OHA’s Strategic Areas of Emphasis and budget for 2019, and last, but not least, the OHA Annual Convention. These are just a few of the things we will be refining as we also begin active discussions on more long-term strategies.
The board has provided great suggestions on improving member engagement in OHA to strengthen our association as the unified voice for Oklahoma’s hospitals and health systems. I hope to discuss these ideas with many of you in the coming months as well. I am excited to lead our staff and members into the next 100 years! Be part of the journey.
