Hospital Crisis Standards of Care Summit set for Dec. 11

The Oklahoma Department of Health’s Emergency Preparedness and Response Service and Medical Facilities Service is working to formally establish the Oklahoma Hospital Crisis Standard of Care document.

The purpose of the document is to serve as a statewide clinical framework for medical systems so they may plan, prepare for, and respond to emergencies in resource constrained environments. The goal is to achieve the most advantageous allocation of patient care resources during phases of a public health emergency; making the document a part of each health care facility’s adaptable multi-tiered emergency response plan. Adaptation of this document will empower clinicians at the point of care and allow for more effective decision making.

The Emergency Preparedness and Response Service and Medical Facilities Service invites you to a special event 12:30 – 5 p.m., Dec. 11, in Oklahoma City. This half-day event is to provide an avenue for interaction by the various focus areas participating in patient care within hospital care to work collaboratively to establish a statewide standard.
