OHCA directed to release RFP for commercial managed care

Posted on: 6/19/20

Yesterday, at an emergency board meeting of the Oklahoma Health Care Authority requested by the governor, the agency was directed to release a request for proposal to move the current Medicaid system into commercial managed care plans. A governor’s press release stated the RFP is expected to be released this fall.

We believe the governor’s press release this week is an effort to distract the people of Oklahoma’s attention from passing State Question 802 and expanding Medicaid. OHA will continue to focus on SQ 802, which will let the people decide about bringing back more than $1 billion each year for health care in Oklahoma. We encourage our members to do the same.
