Changes in the process for ordering monoclonal antibody therapies announced

Posted on: 9/17/21

The Department of Health and Human Services’ Assistant Secretary for Preparedness and Response this week announced a major change in the distribution of COVID-19 monoclonal antibody therapies. Effective Sept. 13, hospitals and other facilities administering monoclonal antibody therapies to COVID-19-positive patients must work through their state or territorial government to obtain those medications.

Ordering of monoclonal antibodies in Oklahoma will now go through the Oklahoma State Department of Health (OSDH). The process for ordering is defined by Elyce Holloway, state hospital preparedness program (HPP) coordinator, OSDH, in an email sent out to all hospitals on Sept. 15. (Patrice Greenawalt)
