OSHQRM to host Risk, Rights & Response: A Healthcare Safety Conference

The Oklahoma Society for Healthcare Quality & Risk Management (OSHQRM), an OHA affiliated society, will host a one-day seminar on Friday, July 24, “Risk, Rights & Response: A Healthcare Safety Conference.” The program will be held in the Oklahoma Hospital Association’s future location at 5201 N. Lincoln Blvd. and is scheduled from 9 a.m. - 3 p.m., with registration starting at 8:15 a.m.

Maggie Martin, JD, chief legal officer with the Oklahoma Hospital Association, will provide an engaging, solutions-focused session on workplace violence laws and solutions that go beyond the basics. Attendees will gain a clear, practical overview of current legislation and have the unique opportunity to help shape future policy discussions. Through an interactive format, participants will collaborate to generate innovative ideas, exchange real-world strategies, and learn from peers. The session also spotlights essential workplace violence toolkits, highlighting the must-have policies and procedures organizations need to strengthen safety, ensure compliance, and foster a culture of security. Kimberli Corcoran, MS RN, senior solution consultant, RLDatix, will provide an engaging afternoon session focused on high reliability and building a strong culture of safety. Through a guided tabletop root cause analysis of a workplace violence event, participants will gain real-world insights and hands-on experience. Attendees will leave with proven tools and best practices to strengthen safety and culture within their own organizations.
